"Day Of Pampering"
This year for Mother’s Day, we wanted to do a little something more for the impoverished moms we
serve. So for this year’s annual event, we decided to have a “Mother’s Day of Pampering” in order
to bless all of the hard-working mothers with manicures, hair cuts, or makeup. It's a small way of
showing them appreciation for all their hard work as moms throughout the year, but one that they
thoroughly enjoyed. Beauticians took time out of their busy Saturday to volunteer and it was so
great seeing moms feeling the love of Jesus through the demonstration and declaration of His love on
that special day.
Moms arrived mid-morning and chose whether to enjoy a catered lunch first or their ‘beauty service of choice’, while their children happily played. After each mom was ‘glamorized’ and fed a delicious catered lunch, they all gathered in the Chapel for a special Mother’s Day service. Following the service, they each received a large quantity of bulk food to take home to their family and a special goodie bag too. Lives were touched, souls were saved, and God was glorified...what more could we ask for on a glorious Mother’s Day celebration? God bless you and yours! ☺
